Cardiff Airport is located in Rhoose, 12 miles west of Cardiff City centre. The airport began its life in the 1940's when the Air Ministry requisitioned land in the rural Vale of Glamorgan to set up a wartime satellite aerodrome and training base for RAF Spitfire pilots. During 1952 the commercial potential of the runway was recognised with Aer Lingus starting up a service to Dublin. Cardiff airport has contiued to grow steadily as is now one of the UK's most succesful regional airports.
Getting there by Car
The airport is situated in Rhoose, 12 miles west of Cardiff City Centre. Exit Junction 33 on the M4 and follow the A4232. Take the first exit off the A4232 at Culverhouse Cross and follow signs to the airport along the A4050 and A4226. From the North take the M5 down to Junction 15 and then take the M4 across the Severn Bridge, to Junction 33. Short Stay and long term parking is available at the airport, there is a courtesy bus from the Long Stay car park to the terminal
Getting there by Taxi
Cardiff Air Taxis are available for hire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Advance bookings can be made for arriving and departing passengers. Disabled assistance is available and cars can cater for wheelchair users if requested.
Getting there by Bus / Coach
The National Express Coach Service operates regular direct services to Cardiff Central Bus Station.
Cardiff Bus: The Airbus X91 dedicated airport service, supplemented by service number 95, operates between Cardiff's city centre and the airport. Getting there by Train
There is a rail link which connects Rhoose Cardiff International station with Cardiff Central and Bridgend. Trains run in each direction every hour and connections to stations around the country can be made from here Cardiff.

- On Airport Parking (no min stay)
Short Stay/Business
For short stays and business travellers this carpark is the best option.
- Prices start at £1.00 for 30 minutes and up to 24 hours will cost £10.00
Long Stay
Long Stay car parking is also available at Cardiff airport and it is recommended that spaces are booked in advance. There is a shuttle bus running from the car park to the terminal.
