The County of Avon is now divided into the city and the Bristol County North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The city of Bath with its Georgian-style town is now recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Furthermore, the city of Bristol is the economic and cultural center of the region. Places of interest include the city's cathedral, the old port (Floating Harbor), the Clifton Suspension Bridge to name nut a few.
In the south of the county is the town of Weston-Super-Mare, one of the major British seaside resorts with a long beach is about 3km. South of Bath interesting places to visit icude Hinton Priory, Stoney Littleton Long Barrow, Westwood Manor.
